Technical Fouls by Coaches and Players
During Regular Season and Play Offs
Coach or assistant receives 2 technical fouls - ejected from game and must sit out next game
Player receives 2 technical fouls – ejected from game and must sit out next game
Accumulative Technical Fouls Regular Season and Play Offs
Head Coach or Assistant Coach
3 Technicals – 1 Game Suspension / 4 Technicals – 2 Game Suspension / 5 Technicals – Done for season
Players
3 Technicals – 1 Game Suspension / 4 Technicals – 2 Game Suspension / 5 Technicals – Done for season
Fan Ejections
First Offense – 5 Game Suspension
2nd Offense – Banned from attending any MSBL games for life
Playing Time
5th - 6th and 7th - 8th Division 1 Only - No Minimum
3rd - 4th all divisions – 10 minutes for all players unless noted on game report
5th -6th and 7th - 8th division 2 and lower – 8 minutes per game for all players unless noted on game report..
Failure To Play Your Players During A Regular Season Game and Playoffs Will Result In The Following
1st Offense - Head Coach suspended for 1 game
2nd Offense - Head Coach suspended for 3 games
3rd Offense - Team suspended for remainder of the season and playoffs
If it happens in the playoffs team will forfeit game even in the finals
Rules You Should Know
Ball Size
5th - 6th grade boy’s – D1 – 29.5 / D2 – 29.5
3rd / 4th grade girls – 27.5 for all division’s - 3rd / 4th boys – 28.5 for all divisions
New Rules
3rd / 4th Grade Division – 3 point shots attempted and made count as 3 points
Teams will shoot two shots on the 5th foul in each quarter and the fouls will reset to zero at the start of each quarter. Foul total will remain the same if a game goes into overtime
Pressing
Division 1 5th / 6th and 7th / 8th Grade Divisions may press whole game unless leading by more than 20 points
Division 2 5th / 6th and 7th / 8th Grade Divisions - may press last 2 minutes of each half
All 3rd and 4th grade divisions – NO pressing
No pressing divisions under 1 minute last quarter or overtime with lead 10 points and under. Winning team takes the ball out of bounds at the spot and the clock does not start until team gets ball over half court line. Defensive team must start at the 3 point line in their defensive end. This rule only applies when the clock is stopped and NOT on a made basket.
Game Reports
Game reports for all divisions should be filled out and kept in binder
It is mandatory to print the officials name in the game report
Email your division coordinator game report if there were any technical fouls in your game
Email VP ASAP if anyone is ejected – players, coaches or fans
MSBL Board will not entertain any playing time issues unless we receive filled out game report

3 – 4 Boys / Girls Divisions – Saturday February 15 and Sunday February 16
5-6 and 7-8 Boys / Girls Divisions – Wednesday 3/5 thru Sunday 3/1
